Customer Engineer

The Customer Engineer is a customer-facing position that is primarily responsible for installation and support of Mazu's Enterprise-class security solutions. The Customer Engineer will also develop and deliver high quality training to Mazu's customers. The Customer Engineer's schedule will include up to 20% travel. This position reports to the Vice President of Technical Operations, and is based in Mazu's Cambridge, Mass. office.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Install, Configure, and Manage Enterprise-class security solutions at clients worldwide
  • Respond to Customer Support calls
  • Develop Customer Training Programs and Materials
  • Conduct Customer Training at Mazu and at customer sites
  • Develop and maintain departmental procedures
  • Work with the Engineering team to escalate and respond to critical customer problems

Experience/skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Customer Service skills
  • Fundamental understanding of IP networking including DHCP, DNS, and IP routing
  • Working knowledge of major IP infrastructure products such as firewalls, routers and switches (especially Cisco)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience with Unix (Linux preferred) administration
  • Excellent Troubleshooting skills
