Mazu Profiler in Action

A financial company sold a business unit and had just 30 days to prepare for the migration of that business unit's network resources to the new owner. They needed to transfer the network resources while preserving the IP address space. They also needed to deploy firewalls for future communications between the two organizations. Finally, they were concerned that the current WAN circuits might not have enough capacity to handle the post-transfer load. Mazu Profiler was used to identify who was using the to-be-transferred systems to plan the migration without causing any user disruption and to develop the appropriate policies for the new firewalls. They also used Mazu Profiler to monitor the bandwidth utilization between the two organizations and confirmed that capacity was inadequate so they provided a backup GigE link to handle the load in the short term. Mazu Profiler helped them to quickly and effectively plan for a smooth transition.
