American Tower Selects Mazu Profiler™ as Platform for Behavioral Security in Internal Network and Corporate Data Centers
Leading wireless infrastructure provider leverages NetFlow data for rapid event detection, response, and recovery
San Francisco, Calif., RSA Conference (February 23, 2004) - Mazu Networks, a leading provider of behavioral network security solutions, today announced that American Tower Corporation has selected the Mazu Profiler to strengthen the company's internal network security and ensure the highest level of protection for their critical applications and network services.
American Tower's security team will be using Mazu Profiler to detect and respond to worms, Trojans, insider IT attacks, and other threats with greater speed and without reliance on signatures. In addition, they will be using Profiler to be more proactive - identifying unauthorized applications and rogue services, maintaining tighter firewall policies, and monitoring how their network and assets in their network are being used.
The implementation at American Tower is also notable as they are leveraging NetFlow as the key data source for Profiler - eliminating the need to add additional sensors or probes in their network. This implementation is significant as it demonstrates that enterprises can leverage existing network infrastructure to implement behavioral network security at a lower cost and with less disruption to their network. By tapping inputs from in-place networking gear, Mazu Profiler offers enterprises and government agencies a flexible, affordable, and highly scalable way to secure their most critical network assets and services.
