

Technology industry veteran to drive continued development of enterprise-class network security solutions
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (July 22, 2004) - Mazu Networks, a leading provider of behavioral network security solutions, today announced that it has named Glenn Brewer as vice president of engineering. Brewer, who brings more than twenty years of experience in product development to his role at Mazu Networks, will be responsible for setting the Company's software engineering strategy and managing the product development team. Brewer's primary duties include growing Mazu's technology team in order to accelerate development of new products and enhancements to existing offerings.

Prior to joining Mazu Networks, Brewer was vice president of engineering at the Rational Software division of IBM, where he led a team of several hundred software engineers working from multiple sites. In this role, Brewer was responsible for engineering functions for the ClearCase, ClearQuest and Requisite Pro product lines. Previously, Brewer served as engineering director at Claris Corporation, where he was responsible for engineering and delivering multiple versions of FileMaker Pro.
