Capital One and AICPA showcase their use of network-wide intrusion prevention technology to protect their core networks against worms and insider threats
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (February 9, 2005) - Mazu Networks, a leading provider of network-wide intrusion prevention systems for the enterprise, is releasing a new webcast focused on internal network security featuring security experts from Gartner, Capital One and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The webcast, entitled "Securing the Internal Network: Protecting Against Worms and Insider Threats," is now available on Gartner.com, ITWorld.com, and on Mazu's corporate website.
The webcast addresses the central challenges of securing internal networks and how behavioral profiling technologies and network-wide intrusion prevention are being applied to solve the problem. It examines the sources of vulnerabilities and the types of exploits that are causing the most damage. It also discusses the Mazu Profiler, the most widely used network-wide intrusion prevention solution in mid-sized to large enterprises today.
"We created this program to help inform and educate enterprise security teams on new strategies and best practices for addressing internal network security," said Paul Brady, president and COO of Mazu Networks. "We know from experience that traditional perimeter security solutions cannot adequately handle the new internal security issues. Mazu's large installed base puts us in a position to observe how the leading companies are addressing these issues. We greatly appreciate that some of those customers agreed to share their insights as part of this webcast."
The webcast includes observations and insights from featured analyst Richard Stiennon, Gartner Research VP of Information Security and Risk. It also features real-world testimony of the Mazu Profiler's capabilities from Mazu customers, including Peter Kofira, information security manager at Capital One, and from Michael Hopkins, senior network architect, and Tom Nolan, director of IT at AICPA. Tom Corn, VP of marketing and strategy at Mazu, outlines Profiler's capabilities and provides context for the analyst and customer commentary.
Viewers will gain a greater understanding of how leading enterprises such as Capital One and the AICPA are leveraging the Mazu Profiler to secure their internal networks. It explores the issues they were facing and the criteria they used for evaluating solutions. It also examines their experiences deploying and operationalizing the solution, and the value they have derived from it to date.
