Mazu solutions now protect over 5 million hosts on corporate and government networks; Company posts 300% increase in revenues and 60% increase in employee base

(February 15, 2005) - Mazu Networks, a leading provider of network-wide intrusion prevention systems for the enterprise, today announced that the company experienced explosive growth and achieved significant market traction and several milestones during 2004. Fueled mainly by strong enterprise adoption of its flagship Mazu Profiler solution, Mazu posted a significant increase in revenue, grew its customer base among mid-sized and large companies, significantly expanded its employee base, and earned noteworthy industry recognition. Mazu's key achievements during 2004 included the following:

• Mazu solutions now protect over 5 million hosts in corporate and government networks.
• The Company posted a 300% increase in revenue from 2003 to 2004
• Reaffirmed and maintained its position as the leading provider to the enterprise market, with particularly significant adoption among leading financial services companies
• Mazu also won new customers in the technology, supply-chain, manufacturing, and media & entertainment sectors, growing its customer base to more than 75 organizations
• Mazu grew its employee roster by 60% in 2004, including a 200% increase in its sales force
• Completed a $12M Series C round of financing, including a strategic investment by Symantec
