

Don Casey to Continue Active Involvement in the Company as Chairman
Cambridge, Mass. (June 6, 2005) - Mazu Networks, the leading provider of behavior-based, network security solutions for enterprises, today announced that Paul Brady will expand his role from president and chief operating officer (COO) to chief executive officer (CEO). Don Casey, the former CEO, will continue his role as chairman of the Mazu Networks board of directors, providing strategic guidance on business and product roadmap decisions.
During his incumbency as CEO, Casey worked closely with Brady to lead the company through successful product launches, the strategic C-round funding by Symantec, the recruitment of key senior executives and the initiation of several major partnership discussions. Already an integral member of the executive management team, Brady will further Mazu Networks' momentum by growing the company's customer base, focusing on aggressive product development, recruiting top industry talent and establishing strategic relationships.

Brady brings to the role of CEO more than 20 years of experience in the general management and strategic development of high-growth technology companies. Most recently, he was president and COO of Guardent, a leader in the Managed Security Services (MSS) market that was acquired by Verisign. At Guardent he was focused on profitable revenue growth, accelerating sales and successfully combining the company's MSS operations with its professional services group. He also played a key role in Guardent's acquisition by VeriSign in February 2004 for $140 million. Prior to Guardent, Brady was the senior vice president at Exodus Communications, where he managed $400 million in revenue, was responsible for nine data centers and had a central role in making Exodus a worldwide leader in hosting and managed services. Prior to Exodus, Brady was cofounder and president of Cohesive Technologies Solutions, which was acquired by Exodus in June of 1999 for $100 million. Earlier in his career, Brady was the founder and CEO of Business Technologies Consulting Group, and prior to that, he was a consultant with Computer Science Corp.'s financial services technology practice.
