Mazu Profiler™ Selected by Cabot Corporation to Help Strengthen its Internal Network Security Program
Mazu Profiler Enables Global Chemicals Company to Protect Against External Attacks and Internal Threats
Cambridge, Mass. (June 13, 2005) — Mazu Networks, the leading provider of behavior-based, network security solutions for enterprises, today announced that Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT), a global specialty chemicals and materials company, selected Mazu Profiler™ to help strengthen the company's internal network security and ensure a high level of protection for their critical applications and network services.
Mazu Profiler analyzes network traffic and behavior to provide enterprises with the network intelligence required to operate internal networks more securely. By examining all internal traffic and analyzing anomalous behavior, Mazu Profiler enables Cabot's networking and security teams to detect and mitigate security and operational threats; isolate activity that places the network at risk and respond quickly to crises without disrupting normal business operations. Additionally, Mazu Profiler's ability to collect and analyze NetFlow data provides Cabot with increased visibility of worldwide network activity; a key benefit for any global enterprise with a complex and diverse architecture.

The Cabot security team uses Mazu Profiler to detect and respond to worms, Trojans, internal attacks and other dangerous cyber threats. In addition, Mazu Profiler allows Cabot to establish a more proactive security program by enabling the company to identify unauthorized applications and rogue services, maintain tighter firewall policies as well as monitor how network assets are used and by whom. Mazu Profiler's ability to scale will also prove beneficial to Cabot.
