The latest white paper from ESG delves into the complicated challenges presented by today’s ever-evolving network and discusses why current security strategies inadequately protect critical internal assets. The research notes that although companies today are clearly more educated on the risks associated with an open network they are still uncertain as to what steps are needed to protect their critical assets from compromise. While security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS devices and security event management tools remain essential, a complete defense-in-depth strategy within today’s complex security environment demands protection at the internal network level through NBA systems.

• Network security must be based upon a real-time view of network activity.
