Mazu Networks Posts Record Revenue Growth in 2005 While Setting the Competitive Bar through Continued Technology Innovation

Company-wide Successes Cement Mazu Networks' Position as the Leading Provider of Behavior-based Network Security Solutions for the Enterprise Market

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - January 6, 2006 - Mazu Networks, the leading provider of behavior-based network security solutions, today announced record revenues for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2005. The year marks several significant milestones for Mazu Networks including the addition of 50 new enterprise customers, the signing of eight strategic partners and market validation by key industry influencers of its leadership position within the behavior-based network security space.

Mazu Networks' customers represent leaders in the financial services, health care, technology, higher education and government sectors, with more than one-third in the Fortune 1000. Strong demand for both its Mazu Enforcer™ and Mazu Profiler™ products led to record sales in 2005, which more than doubled the company's 2004 revenues. Mazu Profiler, an internal network security product, has driven dramatic sales growth. Since the launch of Mazu Profiler in 2003, Mazu Networks has experienced a more than 400 percent growth in sales.

Key achievements in 2005 include:

  • Doubled revenue growth from 2004 to 2005.
  • Won deals with key customers in the technology, federal, supply-chain, manufacturing and health care sectors, growing its customer base to more than 100 enterprises.
  • Realized significant growth in repeat business, now amounting to more than 30 percent of sales.
  • Protected more than 10 million hosts in corporate and government networks.
  • Executed strategic technology alliances with Symantec and ArcSight and channel partnerships with VANDIS and SiegeWorks, among others.
  • Grew its employee roster by 60 percent, dramatically increasing both its sales and engineering teams.
  • Announced 100 percent of its sales engineering staff as Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSP).
  • Launched the sixth generation of Mazu Profiler and Mazu Enforcer.

Mazu Networks raised the bar in the Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) space with the upgrade of its flagship product Mazu Profiler. Through enhanced features including configurable dashboards, integration with vulnerability scanners and long-term storage for historical network activity, Mazu Profiler version 6.0 solidified the role of NBA systems in the new defense-in-depth security architecture. The new version of Mazu Profiler provides enterprises with: extended network visibility; increased protection against worms and insider threats as well as improved audit and enforcement capabilities of internal controls to ease regulatory compliance efforts.
