Mazu Networks Ranked Top 5 Best Place to Work in Massachusetts by the Boston Business Journal

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - June 26, 2007 - Mazu Networks, the leading(1) provider of Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) systems today announced that the Boston Business Journal ranked the company as the fourth best place to work in Massachusetts. This year marks the third consecutive year that Mazu Networks has been listed in Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work list. The fifth annual award recognizes the achievements in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of employee satisfaction, working conditions and company culture.

Mazu Networks was one of more than 300 companies to qualify for consideration, ranking high in the top 20 list in its size category based on the results of employee-satisfaction surveys taken throughout the spring of 2007. The positive responses from Mazu Networks employees sealed the company’s top status.

"It's a tremendous honor to be selected as one of the top five best places to work in Boston for the third year in a row," said Paul Brady, CEO, Mazu Networks. "More than anything, it is a testament to the talented group of individuals that make Mazu Networks one of the best places to work. We employ only the most qualified people in the industry and strive to provide them with the work environment they need to succeed. The fact that our employees have recognized us through this award is a great honor and reflects the strong community of dedicated and gifted professionals that work here at Mazu."

"For the fifth year in a row, our results validate how the creation of the right corporate culture can create powerful business advantages," said George Donnelly, editor for the Boston Business Journal. "We have found that employees take pride in working for companies that are more than just business."

The survey project itself was launched in January by the Boston Business Journal in conjunction with market research firm QMR Inc. of Wichita, Kan. Companies were evaluated on the results of more than 20,000 employee-satisfaction surveys. Employees answered questionnaires that addressed such factors as their pride in the company, company encouragement, support and recognition of achievement and relationships with co-workers and supervisors. The results were analyzed and scored by assigning points to each question.

The top 20 companies in four size categories - emerging (10-24 employees), small (25-100 employees), midsize (101-500 employees) and large (more than 500 employees) - have been profiled in a special supplement of the June 22, 2007 edition of the Boston Business Journal. A countdown celebration breakfast was held on June 22 to announce the final rankings.
